The first audit-native price benchmark for certified natural gas.
CertiMark Premium NatGas Index (CMP-NG™) publishes a weekly, transaction-verified benchmark for the premium paid on MiQ, Project Canary, and Equitable Origin certified natural gas — sliced by certifier, grade, and contract type. Built for LNG offtakers preparing for EU MRV (2027) and intensity-cap compliance (2030), for producers who invested in certification and need to prove the premium is real, and for counsel who need a price they can anchor in long-term contracts.
Three dimensions. One audited index.
Every weekly settle is sliced across three methodology-locked dimensions so that LNG offtakers, hedgers, and producers see the exact premium relevant to the contract shape they care about. Every dimension is enforced by the CertiMark DGF independently — a cell only publishes if it passes the 5/40/10 gate on its own.
| Dimension | Values | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| certification_body | MiQ · Project Canary · Equitable Origin | Each certifier has a distinct customer base and verification rigor — no forced fungibility |
| certification_grade | MiQ A–F (where applicable) | Grade A premium separates cleanly from Grade B/C in EU LNG offtake pricing |
| contract_type | Spot Certificate · Bundled Physical | Prevents conflating Xpansiv / CG Hub spot clearing with long-term bundled supply deals |
The CertiMark 5 / 40 / 10 rule.
Before any cell publishes, an automated Soda Core circuit breaker enforces three non-discretionary thresholds on the underlying transaction panel.
At least five distinct reporting Participants must contribute to any published cell.
No single Participant may account for more than 40% of the cell's volume.
At least ten independent transactions must be recorded per published value.
If any cell fails any rule, that cell publishes as "insufficient data" — never silently dropped. The full YAML scan definition and JSON result are preserved in an immutable audit log, reproducible on demand for counsel or regulators.

Contributors submit transactions for free and receive discounted access to the published benchmark. Raw submissions are SHA256-salted at ingestion and stored in a role-gated database — no human operator can view your counterparty identity prior to aggregation.
