Privacy Notice — NatGasIQ

1. Scope

This Privacy Notice covers personal and business information that AmpedUp Energy LLC collects through the natgasintel.us website, APIs, Excel Add-In, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). It does not apply to information collected by third-party sites linked from the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, work email, company, job title, phone (optional), and company address. This information is used to provision your account and to verify eligibility for capability-specific enrollments (data provider, operator, writer).

Authentication and usage. We collect IP addresses, user-agent strings, login timestamps, and feature-access logs. These are used to operate the Platform securely, to detect abuse, and to enforce rate limits.

Agreement signatures. Each time you accept a Platform agreement (Terms of Use, Privacy Notice, or a capability-specific program agreement), we record the IP address, user agent, timestamp, version of the document accepted, and the electronic signature text. This creates the auditable record required by FERC Policy Statement PL03-3-000.

Submitted market data. If you are a data provider or operator, we collect the market transaction or operational data you submit. This is retained for seven (7) years in encrypted storage and is processed in accordance with your applicable program agreement.

Billing information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. AmpedUp does not store full card numbers or CVVs; only a token, the last four digits, and the card brand are retained for reference.

Cookies. The Platform sets only the cookies it needs to work. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt in to or out of:

natgasiq-session — your sign-in session (encrypted; expires when the session ends or after inactivity).
natgasiq-admin-session and natgasiq-operator-session — separate sessions used only by AmpedUp staff on the administration and operations portals.
XSRF-TOKEN — protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
remember_web_… — set only if you tick "Remember me" when signing in; keeps you signed in on that device.
mpedup_theme — remembers your light/dark display preference.

3. How We Use Information

Provide, secure, and operate the Platform and its subscription services.
Compute and publish benchmark indices, in anonymized and aggregated form only.
Respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
Send the newsletters and daily digests you subscribe to (you can unsubscribe from digest emails at any time).
Comply with legal, regulatory, and audit obligations — including FERC record-retention and audit cooperation.
Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity on the Platform.

4. Confidentiality of Submitted Data

Raw transaction submissions and raw pipeline operational submissions are confidential. The AmpedUp Compliance Officer is the only internal party with full-resolution access, under audit log. Published indices reflect volume-weighted aggregations that do not identify individual contributors or counterparties. Information identifiable to a single provider or operator is never published, shared with other subscribers, or sold to third parties.

5. Sharing

We share information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers. Cloud hosting (DigitalOcean), email delivery (Resend), payment processing (Stripe), and error monitoring, under contracts that require confidentiality and data-protection standards.
Regulators. In response to lawful process from FERC, the CFTC, or other authorities with jurisdiction over benchmark publication. We will notify the affected party where permitted by law.
Annual independent auditor. Under confidentiality, for the annual audit required by FERC Policy Statement PL03-3-000 Standard 4.
Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or financing, with confidentiality protections appropriate to the transaction.

6. Retention

Account information is retained for the life of the account plus seven years after closure, to support audit and regulatory requirements. Submission archives are retained for seven years from the submission date. You may request deletion of account fields not subject to retention obligations by emailing [email protected].

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to raw submissions is restricted by role and logged. We perform regular vulnerability review of Platform infrastructure and conduct the annual cyber and access-control audit required by FERC Policy Statement PL03-3-000.

8. Your Rights

You may access and update your account information from the profile settings page at any time. You may also:

Export your own submission history.
Terminate submission privileges under your program agreement.
Request archive destruction in accordance with your program agreement, subject to regulatory retention obligations.
Unsubscribe from marketing and digest email (security and billing notices cannot be disabled while your account is active).

9. International Users

AmpedUp Energy LLC operates from the United States. Data submitted to the Platform is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Platform, users outside the United States consent to this transfer.

10. Children

The Platform is intended for business use by adults. AmpedUp does not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18.

11. Changes to this Notice

Material changes will be announced by email to registered users and posted on this page with a new version number. Continued use of the Platform following notice constitutes acceptance.
